Germany after the War?
-After World War II, Germany suffered heavy losses both in lives and industrial power: the country's cities were severely damaged from the heavy bombings in the closing chapters of World War II, agricultural production was only 35% of what it was before the war. During the war, 7.5 million Germans had been killed, roughly 11 percent of the population.

What kinds of harsh penalties did Germany have to pay after the war?
-One of the problems Germany faced after WWI was having to pay back all the damages done by them. Many European countries demanded huge sums of money from Germany, and as they were unable to fill those demands, the country's economy suffered. Germany also lost a lot of land to surrounding countries (such as the Polish Corridor, etc.)

How did reparations effect the economy?
-the reparations of the Versailles treaty affected Germany because the treaty took away their land which was used to produce goods.And goods= money. the people were starving because Germany had to pay the allies and Germany lost all of its foreign colonies which again caused huge money losses.

Describe inflation, food shortages, and unemployment after the war.
-Inflation was because of the money shortages through the country, the government started printing money, leading the value of cash to deminish. Food shortages were because of

-took over the imperial government; very controversial and split throughout the country

Why was radicalism so prevalent in Germany after the war?
-Germany felt stabbed in the back by other European countries and wanted revenge

What kind of radical groups formed in Germany between wars?
-many Communist radical groups formed leading to much violence

Why did German soldiers feel "stabbed in the back" by their government and how did the thought of revenge influence the period between wars?
-they felt betrayed by home front citizens, and then the Nazi government betrayed and then seized power

Entire cities were taken out by the major bombings, and the agriculture industry was only 35% of what it was before the war. 7.5 million Germans were killed, roughly 11% of Germanys original population. Germany was often thought to have taken the biggest hit after the end of the war, countries were all pointing fingers at Germany and blamed them for every loss they had.
