1. What did Hitler and the Nazi's need for their "great civilization" to rise?
-they believed they needed more land to support the great population


2. What was Hitler's plan regarding the Soviet Union?
-he was going to have his Nazi regime to find his land to the East, which was the Soviet Union


3. What things did Hitler do to violate the Treaty of Versailles?
-expanded his army


4. Explain what happened in the Rhineland.
-Hitler sent his troops to Rhineland, which was a German territory but was supposed to be demilitarized

-An area of Czech that the Germans and invaded and Hitler declared it now a part of Germany

-the people that had created the Treaty of Versailles decided to let Hitler have what he wanted, giving into appeasement, thinking Hitler would not want more.

-Rome-Berlin Axis

-he believed they were weak and could not fight back

-it could mean a two front war, so he made the alliance....he also planned a secret attack, so that Stalin could not find out.

-Germany invaded Poland

-Manchukuo, Manchuria had resources Japan needed so they issued an attack on Japanesse railway and some Japanese desquised as Chinese

-He tried to avoid Japan so that he could deal with the thought that he was a bigger threat from the Communists. In 1937 the Japanese seized the Chinese capital


Unit Eight Assignment Two: Political Cartoons!

Hitler-Stalin Pact: Hitler, "The scum of the earth, I believe" Stalin, "The bloody assassin of the workers I presume". An attack on Poland by Germany and Russia. Germany did not want to have to fight a 2 fronted war. An agreement to help each other, Russia gained territories and Germany didn't have to fight two wars.

Appeasement: The Munich Pact needed to appease Germany from the chaos of war. The "German" was drowning because of all the difficulties and challenges of war. It was a pact to get territory in Czech.

Isolationism: Nazis were taking over countries and destorying them. "Ho hum. When he is done pecking down the last tree he'll quite likely be tired.". England was on of the last to fall.

Appeasement: Hitler and the Nazis take over everyone, thus making them 'Spineless Leaders of Democracy'. People could not change anything once Hitler had decided leaving him the sole leader. Whatever Hitler said was what was true and anyone believed him.
